Milan Mini Drome
On the day of November 23rd fixed gear maniacs once and again gathered to fight for pride and fame in the worlds smallest minidrome in Milano. 100 competitors and a few hundred spectators were able to witness one of the greatest fixed gear competitions of all time. It actually couldn't be better. As a surprise for everyone after the qualifications runs first six places belonged to Latvians. Say whaaaat?
This crowd couldn't get in because of the fully packed inside.
Imagine the noise of this crowd in the finals?

This was the night to unite.
11th of November we gathered in what we caled "Toure de torch". It was a torch ride trough the heart of Riga. It truely was a heart warming event.
Toms & Tiguls fueling up for the ride.
Gathering the troops and troopettes at the Monument of Liberty.
A march of like-minded youngsters from the National Union.

God bless Latvia.
Tour de Torch.
Day of Lāčplēsis (An epic national hero of Latvia) is the Memorial Day of the Fallen Freedom Fighters of Latvia. It’s the 11th of November, 1919– on this exact day Latvian Armed Forces discharged the bermontians. Although it was almost a year since the birth of Latvia (The day of proclamation of the Republic of Latvia – 18th November, 1918), it was this day that we regained and sealed the independence of the republic.
This is also the day the most sacred of the orders was established – The War order of Lāčplēsis.
It was forbidden to recognize the day of Lāčplēsis.
The first time it was resumed to commemorate was the year of 1988…
It is widely celebrated through out the country.
We sing beautiful and patriotic Latvian songs, light candles around and in the bullet-indented wall of Riga Palace on the Embankment of November 11th.
This is way we want to remember all the heroic good the soldiers did that day by lighting our torches and going on a unified velo-journey through the old town of Riga to the embankment. We believe it is the best way we can remember our heroes – a magical line of houndreds of torches..
Would not miss it for the world!
One fine day Canon Latvia invited us to their office for a talk. We knew very little about it but they had a proposition. So we went to the meeting and as a surprise they had chosen us because they needed someone to give a present to. We kindly accepted this cool peace of gadget that was just released called Canon Legria Mini.
12.8 Mpx, Not to mention Full HD for video, good sensor and a screen that you can turn any direction you want and a fisheye of 170 degrees.
I'ts not like we do a lot of video blogs but maybe i'ts time to start. Anyways now it fits nice in my pocket ;)
This is the actual picture taken with this camera.
Thank you CANON
Welcome to our invasion of Paris
As we arrived to Paris we had a great dinner with great wine in a great flat that was rented through Air B'n'B (Higly recomended). These are the actual first 25 minutes after arrival. And then....baaaam
A woman on a bike hit by a car
Damn... not the best beginning of the trip but we tried to stay focused.
A couple of wine glasses and a beautifull sunset and we go to sleep to wake up early and prepare for the competition.
A quick breakfast and we're heading to the event place
The event took place in the legendary Parisian venue La Cigale.
I remember this place pretty well from 2011 when didn't make it to the finals and Toms got second place allowing Ricky Crompton to get on the podium's first place.
It is a really beautifull old theater

In a wild atmosphere, alltogether 140 participants from around the world have worked hard to try to qualify.
Yeah strech them good before the runs start
I've never seen that many bails in a single competition. It was mad as hell.
Sure it was louder for the locals

La Moustache chilled before his run
After the Qualification runs
Not too bad for Latvians ;)

Here goes the final battle for the podium from 32 very best riders
This actually was one of the friendliest races i've been to
It's a gentleman's thing to say thank you for the opportunity to race your opponent wheather you win or loose him cause you learn a lot from everyone in the drome.
Josh happy waiting for for his time to race
A quick photosession with Red Bulls photographer Teddy Morellec before the finals
This is the start of a very dramatic race.
